CCNR offers dance practice workshops for amateurs of all ages and skill levels, from children and teenagers to adults, and beginners to experienced dancers.

Designed to be sensory journeys of discovery in which the simple pleasure of dancing is essential, our dance workshops thrive on encounters and participants exchanging ideas.

We want to inspire participants to practice, explore, feel and spark their imaginations.

Sentir La Fibre workshops are based on the simple pleasures of dancing and learning. You decide when and how to attend. Led by a changing roster of CCNR dancers and artists in residence, each workshop is unique and introduces you to the choreographic world of that week’s workshop host.

What the participants say...

“Sentir La Fibre is a place where you can express and enrich yourself and share experiences! And you’re constantly learning new things, which helps you get to know the world of dance beyond the workshops!”
Mathilde Salinas
“I love the Sentir La Fibre workshops because they make me Feel Alive. I love that they have continued during the lockdowns, because dancing at home is still better than nothing!”
Corinne Siché
“Each workshop is an intense experience, and it always feels like the first time! Over the years, connections form between the approaches of each dancer, enriching the new workshop with a different angle and perspective.”

Every quarter CCNR offers a one-day Saturday workshop based on the Practice method developed by Yuval Pick, and led by a CCNR dancer.

Since the early 2000s, Yuval Pick has created more than twenty choreographic pieces. Their writing draws on a method called Practice, which is both a philosophy of the body and a set of unique experiences of the self.

Practice has taken shape from one piece to the next, with Yuval Pick drawing on his research and experiments to develop another way of dancing, by inviting performers to perceive their bodies differently and experience a new state of mind freed from old habits.

Initiation workshop for all

Initiation danses urbaines avec la Compagnie Relevant © Juliette Treillet

With the Relevant Company

Two Tuesdays a month, two members of the collective invite you to discover their universe through different styles of urban dance: house, hip-hop, break, locking, smurf… The choreography you will have created together during the season will be presented to the public at the end of June 2023.

The Relevant Company has been an associate artist of the CCNR since January 2022. Its dancers all come from the Lyon metropolitan area. In 2016, after participating in the Ba-bel 8.3 project, choreographed by Abou Lagraa, they decided to create their own company. Their will is to go to the meeting of other dances and other universes, motivated and carried by the creative energy of hip-hop. Today, they wish to tackle human and social issues, with the will to question and challenge the current society.
