Following the departure of Yuval Pick in December 2024, Moncef Zebiri has been appointed to take over the direction of the CCNR starting from September 1st, 2025.

A dancer, hip-hop choreographer, and director of the Free Styles company, Moncef was a member of the prestigious group Pockemon Crew from 2002 to 2016. In 2010, he choreographed his first duet Là-bas chez vous, exploring his Franco-Algerian identity, and went on to found the Free Styles company in 2019. In 2016, he co-founded the company Tie Break with three other dancers, before being selected in 2024 by the Ministry of Culture to join the La Relève program.

As a member of Pockemon Crew and later Tie Break, Moncef ZEBIRI won several world and European titles in various battles. Alongside three other dancers, he co-created the show Lobby, and in 2024, he premiered Joga Bonito, a piece combining breakdance and freestyle football.

“Accessibility is at the heart of this project, with the ambition to make dance and artistic practice available to all, regardless of origin, background, or perspective.”

In his project, dance and urban practices are seen as tools to promote identity and inclusivity. The CCN will be particularly open to local residents, as well as to professionals from the choreographic field and the wider region. He plans to develop festive, popular events that blend amateur and participatory projects with professional creations.

The CCNR building will host his project titled Le Bloc(k), involving five other artists at the CCN: La fougue, Lignes urbaines, Relevant, Les Alchimistes, and IAAL.
